SuperSharp was honoured to be recognised as one of the Top Presenters at Tech Tour Space 2026. Speaking alongside 28 leading technology companies to a panel of investment experts, SuperSharp was recognised for our ground-breaking Long Wave Infrared thermal imaging technology and its potential to revolutionise Earth observation.

The event, in Bodø, Norway, was co-hosted by Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Space Cluster, ESA BIC, Nordland fylkeskommune, and Space Norway. Held annually, the theme this year was “from seabed to orbit.”

We were selected from companies across Europe to take part in the event where in our presentation we described how heat tells stories – about economics, geopolitics, biological activity, travel, energy use, environmental health and more. This year’s extraordinary heatwaves underscore both how vulnerable our societies are to extreme temperatures and the need for better, actionable data. However, tracking heat is hard: current technology is slow, low fidelity and low resolution.  There aren’t enough thermal satellites to deliver regular data sets or persistent monitoring.

SuperSharp is on a mission to change this, and CEO Elizabeth Seward presented to Tech Tour Space how years of research and development have given us a world-leading ability to capture and process precision thermal imagery from space.  The applications are almost endless, from space domain awareness to detecting sub-surface peat fires.

Beyond the pitch stage, we were glad to meet and connect with investors and potential collaborators from across Europe’s space ecosystem. It is such a vibrant, innovative community and we are delighted to be part of it.

We also took part in the Arctic Space Week’s seminar on “Space for the Arctic, Ocean and Security”, where the role of space technologies in Arctic, ocean and security applications presented and discussed. It was clear that our persistent, high-quality data can play an increasingly important role. With arctic transits set to increase, infrared monitoring is uniquely suited to identifying vessels and monitoring their passages through ice-bound regions, bolstering security and the safety of seafarers.
