Elizabeth Seward has taken over as full-time CEO of thermal imaging pioneer SuperSharp, having worked as Deputy CEO alongside co-founder Marco Gomez-Jenkins since joining the business in November 2025.
With the company focussed on delivering novel datasets for customers, she will now lead SuperSharp as it grows its team, productionises manufacturing and bring its next-generation instruments to market.
Elizabeth has over 20 years of experience in the Space and Defence domains, starting out as thermal engineer before transitioning through future programme design to business development and strategy. She held senior positions at Airbus Defence and Space and BAE Systems, where, as Head of Space Strategy, Elizabeth led the strategic planning and business development activities including for the campaign for the multi-sensor Azalea programme.
In addition to her corporate roles, Elizabeth is also active in the space / technology start-up community as an angel investor and, previously, a board advisor to Seraphim VC.
Under Marco’s leadership, SuperSharp successfully grew from three co-founders to a team of 40 employees, achieving substantial revenue growth and securing contracts with partners including the UK Space Agency (UKSA), the European Space Agency (ESA) and the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD).
Notable achievements during this period include winning the Technology Pioneer Award at the Deloitte Gravity Challenge (2021) and ESA Business Incubator’s ‘Pitch to Fly’ Competition (2023). SuperSharp joined the Satlantis Group in 2023.
The company has three class-leading thermal imaging instruments in the final stages of development, each tailored to the technical and budgetary requirements of customers in defence, industry and the civil sector.
Flight models of the small form-factor camera CASPER, and SuperSharp’s flagship unfolding telescope, Hibiscus, are now in production, while a mid-range camera, SPIRIT, will be launched on a high-altitude balloon next year.
